Payset's IBAN Validation Tool allows users to verify whether an IBAN is structurally valid before sending or receiving a payment.
The tool is publicly available and can be used free of charge without a Payset account.
What the Tool Checks
The validator verifies:
- Country code
- IBAN length
- IBAN format and structure
- Check digits (checksum validation)
If all checks pass, the IBAN is considered structurally valid.
What the Tool Does Not Check
The validator does not confirm:
- Account ownership
- Beneficiary name
- Account balance
- Account status (active/inactive)
- Whether the account can receive payments
- Fraud or scam activity
A valid IBAN only confirms that the IBAN format is correct.
How to Use the Tool
- Go to the Payset IBAN Checker: https://www.payset.io/iban-checker.
- Enter the IBAN in the input field.
- Click Check IBAN.
- Review the validation result.
The page also includes a list of all countries using the IBAN standard, together with their country codes, IBAN lengths, SEPA participation status, and example IBANs.
